All uniformed
staff are trained in first aid
and fire extinguishing aided
by a working knowledge of Sale
of Goods Act 1973 (Implied Terms)
together with regularly updated
training in detection of counterfeit
goods. (In fact sometimes we
receive tuition from Trading
Standards - sometimes we teach
them!). We receive instruction
from The Drug Squad regularly
to assist us to keep pace with
the ever changing drug culture
and language to ensure that
we are conversant with the knowledge
needed in our attempt to prohibit
drugs or items being sold on
markets that they operate which
are connected with or promote
and glorify the misuse of drugs.
Fraudulent practices such as
`Run out', `Ram' or `Systems'
are prohibited from markets
that we run - unsure what it
means? Most people are but Hughmark
Staff are taught how to detect
it and prevent the public from
being misled. Our Company has
banned BB Guns and imitation
firearms from being sold at
any event we organise. This
together with the ban on Samurai
Swords we believe is more conductive
to encourage a family day out
experience.

Hughmark International
has been successfully operating
markets since 1974 and during
that time the Company's reputation
and list of markets has grown
substantially and has an annual
turnover in excess of 5 million
pounds. Hughmark is a member
of the Association of Private
Market Operators, Action for
Town Centres, Essex Tourist
Board, South East Tourist Board
and Southern Tourist Board together
with being members of many local
Chamber of Trades/Town Centre
Management Schemes. Hughmark
Directors have sat on several
Town Centre regeneration schemes
committees and have a useful
insight into management of Towns
both being traders and local
authority members in the past.
This qualifies them to give
an unequalled service that responds
rapidly to complaints when they
arise backed up with an excellent
problem reporting system. Hughmark
commission their own Health
and Safety Officer, Quality
Manager and are subject to regular
audits by British Standards
